Overview

Designed for homes whose water test points to arsenic, this Big Blue system puts an arsenic-reducing cartridge at the point of entry so every tap in a household of one to two people is served. It is rated by the manufacturer at 4-6 GPM.

Arsenic is invisible and varies a great deal from one water supply to the next, so let a lab test, not guesswork, decide the configuration. Crystal Quest recommends a larger unit when contaminant levels are high or more residences are served; Double and Triple versions add SMART and carbon block stages.

Key features and benefits

  • Arsenic-reducing cartridge as the primary stage, with SMART and carbon block stages available in Double and Triple.
  • Point-of-entry installation protects showers, kitchen and laundry alike.
  • Full-size 4-5/8" x 20" cartridges in a Big Blue housing; 1" or 1-1/2" ports.
  • Optional lightweight floor stand lets you place the system without drilling the wall.

Household sizing and water compatibility

  • Manufacturer rating: 4-6 GPM | 1-2 people.
  • Ports: 1" or 1-1/2" inlet/outlet ports.
  • Water source: the manufacturer does not publish separate city-water or well-water ratings for this system; choose the cartridge from a lab analysis of your water.

Technical specifications

  • Configurations: Single: arsenic-reducing cartridge. Double adds the SMART cartridge. Triple adds a carbon block cartridge.
  • Cartridge format: 4-5/8" x 20" cartridges.

Installation requirements

  • Optional floor stand with a lightweight, powder-coated aluminum frame lets you place the system anywhere without drilling into the wall.
  • Wall mounting is shown in the manufacturer's images.
  • Professional installation by a qualified plumber is recommended. Install according to Crystal Quest's installation instructions for your configuration.

Maintenance and replacement

  • The arsenic cartridge is offered on replacement schedules from every 3 to 18 months; the manufacturer does not publish one recommended interval, so set the timing from your water test and daily use.

Specifications and reduction targets are the manufacturer's. Results vary with your water, so test it before and after installation.
